The ADVENT UK Team has had a busy 2007 with their International
Awards for Excellence in Business, and some challenges due to
the tremors in the debt markets. Through the year we have been
concentrating on sourcing finance for Russian construction projects
for our Russian clients, and we have several European projects
onstream, finishing the year with the successful sourcing of
debt finance for a bio-fuel project in the UK for 52M €uros.
We have several new projects for funding in 2008 on our desks
:
A European innovative photovoltaic energy project piloting in
Italy for IB €uros (950M €uros senior debt & 50M
€uros mezzanine debt/equity) with guaranteed Government
subsidies, rolling out now.
The construction of a petroleum depot and forward rail freightline
for 52M €uros in St Petersburg, Russia (still my favourite
city)
New Kazakhstan clients preparing projects to be launched on
their UK companies.
An Internet TV video project start-up in France looking for
first round funding.
In spite of the debt markets rollercoaster we are confident
that funding for good projects will remain our main target for
2008.
