It is rather late to wish everyone a Happy New Year,
but no less sincere, and here's hoping that the financial
tsunami will settle down and we can all work normally again!
Probably some of you know I am a Barack fan, and you must
admit that he is an inspiring orator - power, conviction,
work, honesty and tolerance - a man of action! I wish him
and his team Godspeed in their endeavors, whoever your God
may be, and we look forward to working more closely with
his vision of the mighty USA.
Advent UK's vision for 2009 is more modest; in these deeply
disturbed financial times, we look forward to a new Financial
Renaissance beyond blame and shame.
We expect the actions by the UK Government to support
the financial sector will restore confidence and enable
our financial institutions to reactivate their credits to
businesses. The RBS dive is another shock to the system.
But the City of London has a long and strong history
of enormous financial competence and should be at the forefront
of this Financial Renaissance. The UK is also a country
with tremendous entrepreneurial capacity, and the Brits
are at their best when the going is hard!
We hope the European banks will also emerge stronger,
and that the Russian Federation will also stabilize
their financial difficulties soon, as we have many good
Russian projects coming to us for finance and JVs. We need
the European and Russian financial institutions to start
lending again, or the future is bleak for corporate development.
We expect finalization of the funding for our Italian
solar panel project initiated early 2008, and we greatly
appreciate the opportunity of working with the different
banks and investment funds on this project, as well as our
Principals.
We are in the process of launching 12 projects in Russia/CIS
countries, an Egyptian residence project, and we look
forward to working with you in 2009 - keep in touch with
your strategic & financial objectives.
